With 28 years of experience, Mark Camilleri is a Senior Psychologist dedicated to providing a knowledgeable and safe space for individuals across the entire lifespan. While his career is distinguished by senior roles at the Royal Children's Hospital and Drummond Street, his private practice, Carlton Counselling, focuses on the unique psychological needs of adults, youth, and families navigating complex identity, disability, and life transitions.

I have substantial experience supporting individuals and families through every transition, from childhood to later-in-life shifts. extensive background in complex family systems and child health through my work at Disability Services, Department of Families, Fairness and Health, Merri Health and Sexual Health Victoria and Royal Children’s Hospital. Expertise in Gender Identity and Sexuality across the lifespan, including disclosure and identity integration in adulthood.

I have extensive experience working with LGBTIQA+ people across the stages of life including, disclosure (coming out/staying in), sexuality and positivity, coming out later in life, building healthy relationships, substance use, managing stigma and discrimination, and incorporating sexuality and gender into self.
I am skilled in working with trans, gender diverse and non-binary young people and their families in navigating the gender journey and finding inclusion and support. I have been supporting trans, gender diverse and non binary people and their families since 2002 and have useful insights into gender journeys.

I have specific experience working in Human Relations, Sexuality, Relationships development and Rules and Laws about Sex with young people with an intellectual disability and their families through my work at Disability Services, Department of Families, Fairness and Health, Merri Health and Sexual Health Victoria and Royal Children’s Hospital. I am proficient in managing problem sexual behaviour/harmful sexual behaviours.

I am interested in exploring the developing pathways of navigating religion, sexuality, gender and spirituality, particularly, being gay and Christian. To hear and hold stories of how we might reconcile faith, spirituality and notions of sin and affirming sexuality, gender and identity. I am skilled in navigating intersectionality and holding multiple true stories of faith, sexuality and gender identities.
