Experience
Mark Camilleri
Senior Child and Family Practitioner
I like to work by creating safe spaces to hear the stories you bring about barriers to living your best life. I want to hear what things you have tried and resources you have access to now and accessed in the past and what has changed and how come you can’t access these anymore? I would like to explore what do you think you would need to move ahead? What any movement from where you are now to where you want to be looks like? To understand what movement would cost you and what worries you moving ahead? Let’s do some problem solving and create a safe space and see what rises into consciousness. Let’s let go of some things and discover and embrace others.

The tools I might use are informed by client centred didactic therapy, emotional intelligence, the trauma 3 pillar model, solution focussed, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and trauma focussed cognitive behavioural therapy.

My sexuality and gendered lenes are informed by my work at Sexual Health Victoria, Throne Harbour Health, Drummond Street Services (Queerspace) and a lived experience.
My disability lenes are informed by my work at Disability Services, Department of Families, Fairness and Health, Merri Health and Sexual Health Victoria and Royal Children’s Hospital.
